Garage Sale Mirror Redo...

Several months ago I bought this YELLOW GOLD mirror. I hung it in my foyer thinking if I painted my sconces to match it I would like it better.......Well I didn't so I painted it now I love it.

Here is a before pic... Remember this pic from my coffee filter wreath tutorial???? The mirror does't look all that BRIGHT here but believe me it was.
The base color is called "warm grey" I bought it at Lowes. It is a nice off white it has no grey hue to it at all.
Then with a little decrotive painting this is what I ended up with. I love it now. I used a really bright reddish pink, and then "washed" it with black to tone it down.
My mother gave me a wall decal she bought at HomeGoods because it was too small for her to use. I like the way it looks on the mirror, I wish it wasn't frosted but it still works.
Here is what my scones looked like after a painted them to match the mirror.
I sprayed them with the same warm grey as the mirror and did a black "wash" on them.
Little Elwood is just hanging out looking cute!!

My Major Kitchen Table and Chairs Redo...

Right before all of the holidays I decided to redo my kitchen table and chairs. What was I thinking!!! I thought it would be a really quick project..... welllll maybe for someone that DOESN'T have three children!!!! All of my art and project time is very limited, I am usually getting started when everyone else is going to bed. I did  get it done and I love it. Here are a few pics. I did NOT change the fabric on my chairs, but it's in the near future!!!!

This is before I painted the "diamond" on the back.

See why these chairs needed a REDO!

I took these after pics this morning and my lighting is horrible....if it ever quits raining I will post better pictures.

Just ignore the beautiful brass light fixture!
I don't have a before picture of my table, it was just a basic brown before. I sanded all of the wood, just enough to make it feel a little rough. This eliminated having to prime. I used Valspar semi gloss paint from Lowes, and sanded again to give it a distresses look. Then I  put a few clear coats of varnish after everything was finished. It really was quite simple. I would love to redo furniture for  a living! It's just so fun to see how you can totally transform something with a little bit of paint!!!

Beautiful Customized Wall Decor

OK I don't like "posed" pictures of my kids, I always buy school pictures but they never seem to make it on my wall and I do not take my children to department stores to have their pictures taken every year!!!! I have a ton of pictures stored on my computer and I am constantly thinking hmmmm.... what can I do with these. They usually end up in a scrapbook, but you have to pull the scrapbook out to enjoy it and I wanted to do something I could look at and enjoy everyday. This is what I came up with.

This is my youngest daughter Belva. I have had so many people love this that I have listed it on my Etsy site for "made to order" wall decor. I am making more of my other children to adorn my walls with and will post them as I finish them. It's about the size of a large shutter. This one has 3, 8x10 pictures on it under glass. I just love it and the possibilities are endless.
Hope you enjoy!!!!

I must say....she's just the cutest little thing EVER!!!!!
